Honestly Margo
Irene and Margo Gianos are the mother-daughter duo behind Honestly Margo – a local bath and beauty brand, “Inspired by Nature & You.” Their cruelty-free products range from bath and body to aromatherapy, beauty and gift items, each designed with natural and organic ingredients made in the United States.
The beauty brand’s mission is to empower women through the confidence of cosmetics. Though established in 2013, this business unexpectedly began years before when a young Margo began concocting items in their family kitchen.
“Before she was 12 years old, she was trying to come up with things to create from different ingredients in our kitchen,” Irene laughed. “I would find her and be like, ‘Seriously? Honestly Margo?’ Even then, she was fascinated by entrepreneurship and selling things that could help people.”
Irene’s response to Margo’s early entrepreneurial spirit became the moniker for a multi-use line of beauty products created to be simple, fresh and fun for women of all ages. The business started by selling a line of all-natural, individually-named lip balms in their signature scents including lemon, caramel, peppermint, pumpkin and very berry with only four ingredients. Since then, the brand continues to expand into different lines of merchandise such as tinted lip balms, aromatherapeutic hand and body lotion, and fizz bombs – a reusable bath bomb alternative for healthy, wholesome skin – and more.
“We want to cater to everyone who wants to feel amazing at an affordable price that won’t break the bank,” Irene said. “If you’re a woman who wants something that smells good, feels good, and is good for your body, then you have a product in Honestly Margo. This all started from a genuine, authentic place in trying to provide products for people just like us. One of the more important things about all of this was the fact that we could grow over the years and develop more items for any need that comes up.”
By taking traditional bath and beauty products and experimenting with unique, fun scent profiles not seen in stores, Irene and Margo believe that beauty should be “simple, fresh, unique and honestly fun.”
